The Songbird Guild Accomplishments and Announcements!

Some exciting updates and announcements! This one is packed ;D

Hello lovely people! Today we bring you a new newsletter entry, and also, a new newsletter-exclusive character interview (featuring Ai Hikari!).

We’ve been very busy doing game dev stuff, which means, we have a lot to tell you!

Our biggest accomplishments since the last update:

Most of the basic UI is done, with some exceptions in the navigation menu
The dialogue box has a glossary feature, where names of characters, places, fantasy objects, etc, will be highlighted. Move your cursor over it and you can see their definition!
We've made considerable work on the battle system. You can play a battle from beginning to end now! Sure, there are some glitches, and sometimes the basic attack does 3,000% of the enemy's health bar for no apparent reason, but having turns you can use and AI you can "fight" against is still a major step forward.
We've made updates to the first couple episodes based on feedback, the prologue that opens the game is also now more fleshed out

Also, we got some important news! The not-so-good one:

We're not using Twitter anymore due to security reasons. Please don't follow us there, as we won't be uploading content anymore.

THE EXCITING ONE!:

We're going to be at a convention this fall called 1UpState in Albany, New York. The event will be Saturday October 21st from 10AM-11PM at the Albany Capital Center. More info will be shared as the date approaches! Check the convention’s page for more information too: https://1upstate.com/home/

Now, an interview with Ai Hikari!

Ai: Hihi, sorry I’m late! I got stuck in traffic.

Brie: For three months!? You were supposed to be interviewed back in June!

Brie: I’m supposed to interview Shingo today, but…

Ai: Oh don’t worry, he’s not going to be able to make it today.

Brie: …The emotional side of me wants to know what you mean but the logical side of me knows it’ll probably make my day immeasurably worse, so I’m not going to ask…

Brie: Anyway, Ai Hikari everyone. You uh…your powers revolve around radiation, am I right?

Ai: Yup! Nuclear radiation and explosions!!

Brie: …and…explosions…

Brie: So, umm…

Brie: I noticed you always wear a bright pink suit, even in casual situations. Is there a story behind that?

Ai: Haha, silly Brie, it’s the law for all business majors to wear a suit at all times.

Brie: I’m pretty sure that’s not…

Ai: If I’m going to run The Songbird Guild, I have to look my best!

Brie: Still, I’m pretty sure…hold on…

Brie: …

Brie: Sorry about that. We’ve been having a problem with bugs lately.

Ai: Oh, bugs!? Y’know the best way to deal with bug infestations, right!?

Brie: Does it involve explosions?

Brie: …Ai?

Brie: AI NO!!!
